What do I need to qualify?

To have your business’ details up in lights, please complete your details as shown in the example format below, and send in an SMS to 33011.

Your entry will be vetted as per the CIPC Registered Business guidelines.

Once approved, your details will be added to the database for display on the SAB Billboard.

All successfully vetted messages loaded for display will be shown in a cycle from first to last consecutively, and repeated throughout the duration of the campaign.

SAB reserves its rights for this campaign as outlined in the T&Cs provided.

Terms & Conditions

  1. This Promotional Campaign (“Campaign”) is organised by The South African Breweries (Proprietary) Limited (“SAB”) (“Promoter”) and is open to all persons of 18 years or older, resident in South Africa and currently operating a business that is legally registered in terms of the relevant legislation in South Africa (eg CIPC), except the employees and their immediate families of Promoter, Promoters’ advertising and promotion agencies, merchandisers, suppliers and associated companies.
  2. This Campaign forms part of SAB’s Entrepreneurship Programme and features a custom built billboard made up of lights. These lights will be used to display the names and contact details of approved registered businesses. The billboard will be located on Jan Smuts Avenue, Johannesburg and will be live for the duration of one month.
  3. These Campaign terms and conditions (“Rules”) may be amended, by the Promoter, at any time during the Campaign. The Promoter reserves the right to alter, amend or cancel this Campaign. In the event of an amendment, alteration and/or cancellation the Promoter will not compensate any individual/business for any reason whatsoever. The Rules and/or any amendments thereto will be interpreted by the Promoter only.
  4. Participation by all entrants (“Participants/You/Your”) constitutes acceptance of these rules.
  5. Campaign Period: This Campaign commences on 6 November 2017 and closes on 10 December 2017.
     
  6. To enter: Participants must send an SMS to 33011 including their name, business name , service provided by the business and contact information (“entry”). Please also refer to clause 9 below.
     
  7. By entering you stand a chance to have your registered business appear on the billboard at random intervals across the duration of the campaign. Entering will constitute participation herein.
     
  8. Entering does not guarantee that the Promoter will display you/your business name and details on the billboard.
     
  9. On receipt of entry a vetting process, via CIPC or similar, will be conducted by Promoter’s Agency. Only on receipt of a positive result of registration will the business name & details (no images) be considered for display on the billboard.
  10. Businesses are displayed at random so there is no guarantee as to number of times your business will be displayed, number of minutes/seconds it will appear, number of times it will be displayed.
  11. Businesses are independent and Promoter displaying/advertising the businesses shall not be construed as creating any relationship of agency, partnership or joint venture between the Parties. No business has authority to represent, act on behalf of or bind SAB.
  12. Participation in this campaign does not constitute any relationship, affiliation and/or endorsement of any business with SAB. No business has the right to allude to any relationship with SAB or indicate any endorsement, affiliation and/or relationship with SAB.
  13. Participant undertakes that:
    1. It has the authority to enter this campaign on behalf of the business and has the authority to consent to the business details (including name) being displayed on the billboard;
    2. The business/businesses is/are legally registered in accordance with the relevant laws in South Africa;
    3. The business/businesses are currently (actively) operating in South Africa;
    4. The business/businesses is/are in ‘good standing’ and is compliant with regards to all relevant laws in South Africa;
    5. In need Participant will be able to provide a certification of registration and/or a certificate of good standing from the relevant South African government body, at your own cost. If called upon to do so a maximum period of 30 days will be allowed to obtain and provide same to Promoter;
  14. Participants undertake further that to the best of their knowledge and belief neither they nor any of their associated parties:
    1. have at any time been found by a court in any jurisdiction to have engaged in any Corrupt Act (or similar conduct), fraudulent activities, been found guilty of misconduct, negligence and/or incomplete/poor quality services rendered;
    2. have at any time admitted to having engaged in any of the acts listed in 14(i);
    3. have at any time been investigated or been suspected in any jurisdiction of having engaged in any of the acts listed in 14(i).
  15. Promoter reserves the right to remove and disqualify any entry and/or business displayed on the billboard if it deems it to be inappropriate and not an eligible/valid/legal entry or in the event of any non-compliance with these rules.
  16. In the event of a dispute, the decision of the Promoter is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  17. Promoter will not be responsible for any lost, delayed, incorrect or incomplete entries for any reason whatsoever, including but not limited to any platform, network, computer or cell phone hardware or software failure of any kind, or otherwise. Proof of submission will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
  18. By participating you agree that Promoter may disclose the information received voluntarily by you to:
    • Its service providers and subcontractors, including its affiliates, retained to perform functions on its behalf or to provide services to them, such as marketing and advertising; data processing; software development; digital platform hosting and management; information technology and office services; legal, accounting, audit and other professional service providers; and further provided such service provider does not collect, use or disclose the personal information for any purpose other than to perform such functions or to provide services to them or as otherwise required by law;
    • a person or entity, including its affiliates, to whom disclosure is required in order to fulfil one or more of the purposes described above under "Purposes for Collecting Information";
    • a person who, in its reasonable judgment, is providing or seeking the information as the authorised or appointed legal agent of the subject individual; or
    • any third party with your consent or where disclosure is required or permitted by law.
  19. By participating you authorise the Promoter to use your/your business’ name, image and/or likeness in promotions, marketing campaigns or similar such activities related to the SAB Entrepreneurship program whether in photographs, videos, websites, social media, traditional media, outdoor sites and all other forms of media, for a period of 12 (twelve) months after the campaign period.
  20. All Participants indemnify SAB, its officers, directors, employees, affiliated companies and agents, from and against any and all claims for death, injury, loss or damage of any nature whatsoever which they or the business or any other person may sustain as a result of or arising out of their use of Participant’s name, likeness or image and/or that of Participant’s business in this and/or any related promotion and/or campaign.
  21. Participants also indemnify SAB against any claim made against SAB by any third party arising out of Participants consent to use its (Participants) name, likeness or image and/or that of its business in this or any related promotion and/or campaign.
  22. Use of the aforementioned does not in any way constitute any relationship, affiliation or endorsement of whatsoever nature by SAB.
