Future Leaders

SAB has a relentless passion and strive to help develop the economy of South Africa and the young hungry minds that live in it. This passion is what drives initiatives such as Future Leaders, a local youth based reality show, that has gone on to enjoy five fruitful seasons. Future Leaders was launched to encourage the youth of the country to stand up and do more for their communities, with the help of mentors who come from similar backgrounds. This season’s thirteen-episode show, saw each aspiring youth learn how to lend a helping hand in their local community, with the assistance from local government and personalities alike.

Meet the Mentors

These mentors, who are tasked to support the young leaders in the making, are all self-made and share the same passion to help others grow to towards bettering themselves and their communities.

Phumlani Njilo, from the comely Kwazulu-Natal, has offered his entrepreneurial expertise as a mentor, having founded his own NGO in his local community and running a successful funeral solutions company.

Thato Tsotetsi, a well-known producer, has groomed and supported all kinds of acts in the music industry; His experience has made him go as far as to start his own record label, so he can give up-and-coming artists the opportunity to showcase their love for music under his label.

Nompumelelo Mbethe, spent most of her early working days gaining bountiful experience in the media industry, boasting experience behind the mic on radio and behind the camera on TV. Her driven personality has given her the courage to start an events company that has been running for a good six years and doesn’t show any sign of stopping under her focused driven management.

Bongekile Radebe, business blogger and acclaimed female entrepreneur, has chosen to create avenues in business for young women to participate in the economic acceleration of the country. Having studied in the USA, her knowledge of business has been taken to new levels, where she aims to teach as she grows. Loyiso Mdebuka or DJ Loyd, has his ties in TV and Radio. As a social entrepreneur, he strives to help those around him pursue their own dreams and self-created successes. As a former season three Future Leaders mentor, his passion to help mould others has brought him to the show once more.

The last of the mentors hails all the way from the Free State, Monwabisi Bangiwe. As a professional performing artist, Monwabisi does it all. From acting to dancing to choreography.
