Don’t Spoil the Long Weekend

A mini vay-cay

The first long weekend of the year has come and gone quicker than you can say, “I need another weekend to recover from the long weekend.” Lots of treats, a few drinks, and time spent with family was needed after a crazy start to another year.

Whether you’ve been hunched behind the computer or just started university, we were all feeling a mini vay-cay just to escape the daily routines. But we hope you remembered the most important thing whilst you were out on the road – knowing your limits...

Don’t let loose on the responsibilities

5pm on Thursday hit and it was time to clock out, pack the car and head home or out on the road. With all the excitement of not having to head to work on Monday – a few drinks were in order. But we needed to be reminded that the Easter weekend isn’t just a massive party, it’s the time people head home to see their families they haven’t seen since December or just to spend quality time as a family.

It was definitely a weekend where reckless behaviour needed to be avoided, not only for you but for others too. It only meant playing fair. If you drank, we hope you did so responsibly and remembered your limits.

The latest campaign from SAB hopefully acted as a good reminder that it’s great being the dad with all the jokes, not the joke of a dad who couldn’t keep it together.

#DontSpoilTheLongWeekend

The #DontSpoilTheLongWeekend campaign showed how a simple bad decision could spoil your long weekend, and how the simple incorrect decision to over-consume could end yours or someone else’s life.

For the campaign we created three simple scenarios:

So, for future long weekends or weekends in general, keep these in mind when you’re having a few drinks. And if you do see these #DontSpoilTheLongWeekend posts of Facebook, share them to remind your friends and family to have fun and drink responsibly too.

Happy holidays

From us here at SAB, we would like to thank you for your on-going support. We hope you had a fun-filled long weekend. Remember to always Be Responsible!
