BELGIAN BEER CULTURE

In Belgium, brewing, drinking and appreciating beer is part of every community. Beer is synonymous with Belgium. To this day, people travel around the world for a beer tasting experience that only Belgium can offer.

They produce almost 1, 500 types of beer using a variety of different brewing methods. Certain regions have even become famous for their style of beers.

In Belgium, beer is widely used for cooking and in creating other national delicacies such as beer-washed cheese. There are even organisations dedicated to promoting sustainable practices like recyclable packaging and new technologies to reduce water usage in beer production.

Recently, beer culture in Belgium has been added to UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage. That means that it is now officially recognised as a world treasure.

UNESCO stands for The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. It is a part of the United Nations and its purpose is to contribute to peace and security by encouraging collaboration between countries through educational, scientific, and cultural reforms.

This weekend, raise a glass to Belgian beer culture with a Belgian beer.
If you haven't tried one yet, this could be the perfect opportunity. So, head down to your local bottle store and ask for a few different styles of Belgian beer for you to try.
