The future is here; it’s 2025 and we’re commemorating World Environment Day. Our beer still tastes great and the love and care taken in making them has been further enhanced by the sustainability initiatives that we implemented in 2018.

CELEBRATING THE FUTURE, NOW

In our future, we are looking to celebrate not only the production of beer and the creation of job opportunities but also what we have given back to the environment.

This isn’t just a commitment for the future, this is happening now; it’s a long term commitment that we have been working on for years, as we believe that a better world is within reach.

We’re working with farmers across South Africa to grow healthy, nutritious crops with the use of smart agricultural practices. We’re creating job opportunities within and outside the supply chain, by working with future-forward entrepreneurs and like-minded businesses. We’re working towards producing beer using renewable energy while packaging it in materials that can be recycled. We want to ensure that what we take, we give back tenfold.

OUR GOALS FOR 2025

The South African Breweries (SAB) and Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) Africa have committed to several Sustainability Goals to be achieved by 2025 in the areas of Water Stewardship, Smart Agriculture, Climate Action, Circular Packaging and Entrepreneurship.

“We believe it is common sense to seek a world that is cleaner and more environmentally friendly to create an atmosphere and economy that are conducive to doing business. To do this, we have integrated sustainability into our business strategy, and have accountability monitoring and benchmarks in place throughout our business,” says David Hauxwell, Vice President Sustainability and Procurement, SAB and AB InBev Africa.

OUR JOURNEY TO 2025

The delivery of the 2025 goals will have a wide-reaching impact that includes connecting thousands of farmers to technologies and skills, ensuring water access and quality in high-stress communities, partnering with our suppliers to increase recycling content, adding renewable electricity capacity to regional grids, and creating real and meaningful jobs in the local economy.
